Before making the jump and booking, if you're like us, you want to find as much information as possible. This page is for you. Don't see your question answered? Stop by the contact page and drop us your Q and we'll send you the A.
GENERAL QUESTIONS:
How far in advance should I book?
ASAP. “Lifes a Trip” has a limited number of 5 photo sessions and 3 weddings each month. Due being we are still newlywed.
What happens if I'm late?
All sessions have a 10 minute grace period. “Lifes a Trip” tends to arrive 10 minutes prior and urges you to do the same. Regardless if you're not present within 10 minutes of our contracted start-time your session will begin. The number of preview images will decrease in ratio to lost time. Additional time can be purchased, on the spot, if available.
Do you charge for travel?
If your shoot/wedding is outside a radius of 30 miles from Miami, yes. The fee is $10/hour.
I want to shoot at this awesome, very protected, insanely manicured, vastly hip place. Can we do that?
Beach, Gardens, Theaters, Dave&Busters, and Museums - bring it on! Most times we can, though typically there's a one-use-only permit we have to get, and sadly your session fee only covers the photography time. Additional expenses incurred are the client's responsibility.
WEDDING QUESTIONS:
What if I book you and you can't make it?
First it's unlikely. I thrive off of the adrenaline a wedding atmosphere creates. But that doesn't answer your Q does it. We are a part of a local wedding photographer network who've agreed to cover each other's backs, just in case. This way you don't have to worry.
What does your wedding packages include?
Having shot many weddings, we know what a bride wants from her wedding coverage. Our base package includes 8 hours of wedding photography, and an fab professionally design contemporary album, all under $2,500!
Because each wedding is different we offer a-la-carte options that helps you create the perfect wedding day coverage, keepsake options, and additional side sessions (engagement, boudoir, rock the dress, etc) that's right for you.
If I'm interested in hiring “Lifes a Trip” to cover my wedding day, what does that entail?
Typically it all starts with an email or call where “Lifes a Trip” shares it's investment rates and date-of availability. Then we get some coffee and share wedding details, plans, expectations, keepsake options, etc.
Once you confirm that you want to share the joy of having “Lifes a Trip” as your wedding photographers, we send an invoice via email with the contract stuff inside. After the payment of your half-down deposit, your date is guaranteed.
A month out from your Big Day we meet to discuss your shoot list, and day-of schedule. From that point on we're in contact as changes occur and updates need to be made.
10 business days after your wedding, your shareable online gallery will be ready for preview. After which your remaining balance is due. Once paid your cd or dvd, if you bought one, will be sent in a cover.
How long does it take to see my images?
Unless otherwise mentioned, within a month. Another reason I only accept 3 weddings a month!
PORTRAIT QUESTIONS:
When do you do your shoots?
“Lifes a Trip” shoots on Saturdays and Sundays. Butt-crack-of-dawn or late evening for natural setting (park, beach, etc). Mid-day for in-home/studio/lifestyle portraiture. Oh, when I don't have a wedding booked.
Natural shoots at the butt-crack-of-dawn, really?!
Yep. There's 1 reason with 3 parts - LIGHT. A: In the morning (and evening) the light is more soft, sweetly wrapping around you. B: Our portable lights can easily augment the sun, crafting images that are unique. C: The later it gets the harsher the light becomes and thus unflattering.
The butt-crack-of-dawn is early. What happens if I'm late?
First off, we loose the most precious element - the SOFT light. Therefore your images won't be as A.MAZ.ING.
Aside from that, all sessions have a 10 minute grace period.
What do I wear?
I love that you're thinking about that! It's so important. Just like brainstorming where we will shoot, the next part is the clothing. Sometimes it goes hand-in-hand. Other times it's not so obvious. But to be sure I can help. But if your the independent type check out: WardrobeĆ Wednesday. It's a page where photography meets fashion and I'm sure you'll be inspired.
